An Evening Snacks at Kedai Sota, Batu
If you’re around Batu square (alun-alun), you should visit Kedai Sota. Kedai Sota serves good quality food from fresh ingredients in reasonable price. You can grab some snacks, main course and beverages.
We have tried mushroom meatballs, hot wings, siomay, potato wedges. Plus avocado float and choco orange to wash the snacks down.
Mushroom meatballs consist of jamur tiram, jamur kuping and topped with jamur kembang. It is savory and light, the soup is made of veggies and chicken stock. The portion is easy on the stomach, it makes us crave for more.
Hot wings are seasoned well and spicy, and if you’d like more filling option, try adding nasi bakar for this dish.
The siomay was deep-fried (we actually expected for steamed ones) but the filling was hearty and full of chicken.
Potato wedges were crisp on the outside but soft and tender on the inside. It might went through double cooking process, baked and fried.
The choco orange is refreshing and balanced. They use fresh squeeze of orange and lemon mixed with cacao and milk. For you who doesn’t like avocado, you can try avocado float from SOTA. It is refreshing and not overly sweet.
Overall we like it. It is filling, tasty yet affordable.
