Soft Blood Unleashed Mini Album “Labyrinth” on Digital and Physical Format

After teasing us with two singles last year, indie unit from Jatinangor, Soft Blood finally released their debut mini album “Labyrinth” on digital on 6 April 2018 and later on physical format. Andri Cahyaningtyas, Dini Lestari, Mirza Pahlevi Wardhana, Rizal Taufikkurohman, and Surya Fikri Asshidiq released this album via Mishashi Records – a sub label of Nanaba Records. It took the band 6 months to complete the process of making this album. As Rizal Taufiq, the guitarist of Soft Blood explained, the members are currently reside on different areas, resulting in the difficulty of getting them together. The mixing and mastering was done by Alvin Baskoro from Alvin & I with the album illustration done by Sarkodit. These six songs use jangly guitar and lo-fi tunes as their main selling point. It results in a laid back record that you could listen to while chilling or just spending some me-time. Released under Mishashi Record, the founder of this label, Jodi Setiawan, chronicled his journey on meeting and discovering the new direction from the band.

Jodi said that the new sound from Soft Blood is different than their previous effort which was a band led by Mirza called Sadford Lads Club. “If I were to describe it in words, it’s the combination between Alex Calder and Mac DeMarco with mysterious male and female vocals. Don’t imagine it as a record full of high spirited and fast paced songs, the EP can be enjoyed at home with your love ones or your travel companion instead,” said Jodi. While the songs can be listened already on digital platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, or iTunes, the pre-order for the physical format of the EP is also opened. The CD of “Labyrinth” can be placed through Misashi Records with the addition of 3 live tracks which were mastered and mixed by Wendi Arintyo.
