Jazz Gunung have expanded to other mountainous area since last year’s celebration of Ijen Summer Jazz and this year, the event is going to be held again. For two days, starting from 6 to 7 October 2017 an annual jazz event will be held at Amfiteater Terbuka Jiwa Jawa Resort Ijen at Banyuwangi. The first installment of the music festival went so well with high anticipation from the audience. So to accommodate the high demand, this year’s festival is going to happen for two days straight. Eight performers are set to perform there, with four musicians on each day. The first day will begin with the performance of the breakout star of festival, Student Jazz Banyuwangi. You will be entertained by the charming voice of Luanada feat. Mathew Sayers next and it will be followed by Nonaria‘s performance with Bonita. SriHanuragaTrio feat. Dira Sugandi who performed at Jazz Gunung Bromo 2017 will greet the audience as the last peformer of the first day of Ijen Summer Jazz 2017. Another finalist of Student Jazz Banyuwangi will open the second day. Balinese musician, Tropical Transit, will showcase their music upon the audience as well as Bintang Indrianto Festival who is slated to perform afterward. A performance from legendary singer, Vina Panduwinata in collaboration with musician Dian HP, will close the stage on day two.
The combination of open nature and jazz music are proven to be perfect formula. Ijen, as one of the volcano in Indonesia offers one of a kind experience for music enthusiasts and nature lovers. It has its distinctive blue fire on the crater that becomes a tourist’s attraction. Ijen Summer Jazz is included in “Banyuwangi Experience” which present local culture, jazz music, and splendid view of Ijen Mountain. The venue is able to hold 300 spectators and it has begun selling with 2 types of tickets. The regular ticket for one-day-pass cost IDR500,000 while the VIP costs IDR1,000,000. The 2-day-pass costs IDR800,000 for the reguler and IDR1,500,000 for the VIP category. VIP tickets already include dinner with the performers and musicians of Ijen Summer Jazz 2017.
