Filastine Spotlight the Life of A Scavenger on Music Video for “Los Chatarreros”
Abandon series which comprised of four music videos from Filastine has finally come to an end as “Los Chatarreros” was released. Three previous audio visuals from the series have been released and they are “The Miner”, “The Cleaner” and “The Salarymen” in a chronological order. The single “Los Chatarreros” itself has been available to be streamed digitally on Youtube, Bandcamp and Soundcloud. The terms derived from Spanish words to refer to scavengers who search for scrap metal every night in the corners of Barcelona city, Spain. The activities are mostly done by illegal immigrants without official paperwork to further sustain their lives in Spain. “Those people are actually scattered everywhere, but they’re like invisible. Their presence can be considered as weird for Barcelona’s image who is often labelled as trendy and cultured city,” says Grey Filastine who has spent most of his years living in the city. The video chronicles the daily activity of a scavenger who spends his night with his trolley looking for something useful to be sold again. His work ends when the sun rises from the east and he could later sell his “harvest” to those who are willing to buy.
