What’s New on Record Store Day Indonesia 2017?
Record Store Day is on its 10th year anniversary this year and Indonesia once again hosts the celebration very merrily. Record Store Day 2017 Indonesia chapter Jakarta is held at Kuningan City, Jakarta on its 7th floor from 21 – 22 April 2017. This marks the sixth time that Record Store Day Indonesia has been held so far. Some of you might be asking why do they choose a shopping mall as the venue. The committee explained that this time they want to give the utmost comfort to the visitors who want to buy the physical records. The strategic location of the mall also makes it easier for people to find out about the event and join the annual occasion. Previously, Record Store Day Indonesia was held at HeyFolks! and Pasar Santa. To commemorate the special event, exclusive releases are unveiled during the event. Those exclusive releases are including The Trees And The Wild – Monumen (EP), Petaka – Live at Extreme Moshpit (cassette), Payung Teduh – Live and Loud (cassette), Giant Step – Life Not The Same (Cd, Vinyl, cassette,-boxset), Alice – Konsorsiumhumaniora (cassete) and many more. Approximately more than 40 exclusive releases are being sold and there will be more added later on.
Not only records market, there will be live performances from musicians like Giant Step, Petaka, Fable, The Trees And The Wild, Dialog Dini Hari, Monkey To Millionaire, Barefood, Skalie, Sentimental Moods, Indische Party, Polyester Embassy, Piston, Ramayana Soul on the two day event. Workshop, auction, and interactive activity will be served to the eager audience who love physical releases. A pre event ‘Road To Record Store Day’ has been held on 15 April 2017 at Qubicle Center and invited Wahyu Acum (author of #GilaVinyl), Yongki Perdana (the owner of Quickening record store) and Ardy Chambers as speakers.
